Built Around the Collars

The idea was simple: stop treating a jet ski like a small boat. We wanted a Spot Lock setup that felt like it belonged on the ski from the start.

JFM Spot Lock was developed around our Version 4 collar platform, using purpose-designed front and rear mounting systems and added collar reinforcement. We show customers what the system does and why it works — while keeping the fabrication details that make it unique within JFM.

After multiple revisions and on-water testing, the Sea-Doo and Yamaha prototypes are working well and are almost ready for production.

Why it is different

The Motor Mounts to the Collars

The JFM collar platform carries the mounting system and adds stability around the complete fishing setup. The result is a purpose-built system rather than a generic motor attached directly to the ski.

Front or Rear Mounting

Two purpose-designed mounting options allow the system to be configured around the ski and the owner's preferred fishing layout.

Reinforced Collar Platform

Extra support and strengthening are added to the collar assembly to handle the motor's weight and operating loads.

Sea-Doo: No Hull Drilling

Current Sea-Doo Fish Pro installations do not require holes to be drilled into the ski.

Yamaha: One Hole

The current Yamaha installation requires one single hole, while the main system remains mounted through the collar platform.

Quick Release

The motor and power components retain quick-release connections for practical removal, storage and servicing.

Existing V4 Owners

Existing Version 4 collars can be upgraded with the required JFM reinforcement and support components.

Reinforced for the job

Support Where It Matters

The motor creates different loads from ordinary collar accessories. The Spot Lock setup therefore uses additional support beneath the collar platform, designed specifically for this application.

We deliberately do not publish bracket measurements, material specifications or fabrication details. Customers get the benefit of a tested JFM system without us giving away the work behind it.

12V GPS Spot Lock motor with wireless control and a custom 32-inch shaft designed for jet ski installations.

Custom Mounting System

Purpose-designed front or rear bracket configuration matched to the compatible JFM collar setup.

Collar Reinforcement

Additional JFM support components to strengthen the Version 4 collar installation.

Heavy-Duty Quick Release

Allows the motor to be removed more easily for transport, storage or servicing.

Quick-Connect Power Kit

Two-pin connection, panel socket, cable and terminals for a clean removable electrical setup.

Electrical Protection & Charger

60A breaker/isolator and planned smart charging equipment. Final package confirmation will follow.

Practical design

Stowed When You Do Not Need It

The motor folds into its stowed position and uses a quick-release mounting arrangement, making the system more practical around transport, storage and normal setup changes.

Final riding, stowage and operating instructions will be supplied before production release.

JFM power system

Battery Box,
Battery & Charging

The battery system will be sold separately from the JFM Spot Lock motor package. This gives customers the flexibility to choose the complete local package or source the approved battery through a partner closer to home.

The JFM weather-protected battery box is being designed specifically for Sea-Doo, with a revised mounting arrangement planned for Yamaha. Quick-release power components are retained so the battery system remains practical to disconnect and remove.

Lithium batteries will not normally be shipped internationally by air because of the high freight cost and dangerous-goods requirements. JFM intends to support international customers through approved local battery suppliers and partners.

Installation

Simple Main Fitment,
Careful Wiring

The main mechanical installation is generally less than an hour for someone comfortable with tools. The complete job may take a couple of hours depending on the battery location, wiring and cable routing.

Installation videos and model-specific guidance will be released before customer deliveries. Existing Version 4 collar owners will also receive guidance for the required reinforcement upgrade.

Can existing Version 4 owners upgrade?

Yes. Existing Version 4 collars can be upgraded after the required JFM reinforcement and support components are fitted.

Does the ski need to be drilled?

Current Sea-Doo Fish Pro installations require no hull drilling. The current Yamaha installation requires one single hole.

Can it mount at the front or rear?

Yes. JFM has developed purpose-designed front and rear mounting pathways, subject to the ski and collar configuration.

Is the battery included?

The motor system, battery box and battery are planned as separate product options. Buyers can choose the package that suits their location.

Can you ship worldwide?

The Spot Lock system and battery box are intended for worldwide shipping. Lithium batteries will normally be sourced locally for overseas customers.

What is the warranty?
